SMTS/ Database Engineering team - MuleSoft

MuleSoft is currently searching for an Engineer with a focus on Database management, Linux fundamentals, and a proven understanding of schema design and database optimization in open source database systems. We are looking for someone to help our database engineering team perform day to day tasks and assist in implementing our database as a service vision. As part of the Production engineering data team, you will work closely with engineers from multiple teams to keep our infrastructure stable, diagnose and fix performance issues, and identify and implement improvements to processes or tools already in use.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with our engineering teams on building, maintaining, and monitoring the infrastructure for our platformAssist with new tools and processes for managing Mulesoft’s database infrastructureDesign, optimize, and maintain a large distributed data environmentIdentify existing and potential performance pitfalls and work with the engineers to diagnose and fix themPrepare MuleSoft’s database infrastructure for the next phase of rapid scaling

Requirements:

Excellent communication and problem solving skillsKnowledge of AWS RDS (Postgres, MySQL)Linux / Unix experienceExperience with configuration management tools, Terraform preferredPast experience monitoring, maintaining and tuning databases in a highly available environmentParticipate in the on-call rotation for production incidents to maintain operational excellence and high availabilityKnowledge of database proxies (RDS Proxy, Proxy SQL) a plusA related technical degree required
