Job Description:

DXC Technology is looking for a Database System Engineer to join ITO organization.

The candidate will be responsible for analysis and control of infrastructure using DXC best practices. Reporting into the Italy Cloud & Platform organization, the System engineer will apply his/her knowledge to solve complex business issues by working in a team of architects, infrastructure engineers and developers in order to identity areas of improvements.

Requirements

Strong and solid background as System Administrator

Deep experience in database’s maintenance

Deep Knowledge of Oracle RAC, Exadata, ZDLRA, Data Guard, ZFS Oracle Appliance, Vertica and MongoDB. MySql Cluster Architecture (use of open source software such as Percona XtraDB) and PostgreSQL with Pgpool Architecture

Practical experience in Actifio Oracle Data Virtualization

Thorough understanding of Database Backup and restore (RMAN) and show practical experience

Ability to detect and locate DB performance issues and suggest and implement solutions

3+ years of experience as software engineer in the management of monitoring and logging activities, especially in Linux environment with one or more of the following languages - Java, C++, Perl, Python, Bash, PowerShell

Understanding of Windows, Linux, Unix, Networking, TCP-IP, Routing, Switching, Firewalls, Load balancers and other infrastructure components

Fluent Italian

Education And Certifications

High School Diploma or Degree in Computer Engineering or equivalent

Business problem solving, critical thinking and information analysis

Certifications will be appreciated in one or more of the following: Oracle 9i, 10g, 11g & 12c, MySQL (release 3.23 to 8), MS-SQL Server (release 2000 to 2016), PostgreSQL (release 11 to 12)
