Data Center Technical Architecture Manager (Cloud Architect)
Position:
The Data Center Technical Architecture team is in charge of shaping how JTI's Data Center technology grows. This includes servers, storage, operating systems, databases, disaster recovery, and high-availability solutions. The goal is to create a cost-effective and strategic setup for a global organization that operates around the clock.
The Data Center Technical Architect Manager is responsible for creating, improving, and streamlining technical solutions for JTI's global business applications. Their main focus is enhancing the data center, making it more efficient and automated.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with business and IT teams to implement and transition to future state architecture Create and maintain high-level and low-level architecture documents based on the evolving application landscape and business requirements Identify risks, issues, and assumptions within the application landscape and propose resolution and mitigation plans Participate in RFPs with the definition of technical requirements and vendors’ solutions proposals evaluation Collaborate and contribute to the development of internal standards, procedures, processes, and guidelines for solutions’ architecture and implementation Analyze and monitor Azure Reserved Instances (ARI) usage, ensuring optimal utilization and cost-effectiveness Purchase and manage ARIs, making informed decisions about their acquisition and cancellation as required by our resource needs Monitor and assess the performance metrics of IaaS and PaaS resources, identifying unused resources and opportunities for rightsizing Collaborate with application owners to negotiate rightsizing adjustments to enhance resource efficiency Create requests and change proposals to implement necessary actions based on performance analysis and optimization recommendations Manage lifecycle tasks for IaaS and PaaS resources, overseeing their provisioning, maintenance, and retirement processes Track and document changes implemented to improve resource efficiency and cost management Provide support in provisioning Azure resources, assisting teams in setting up cloud environments effectively
Requirements:
University degree in Information Technologies (Computer Science, Software Engineering and Automation, Cybernetics, or Applied Mathematics) or Strong Practical and Theoretical IT Background 5+ years of experience in Information Technology, and complex infrastructure support in an enterprise environment Strong understanding of performance metrics and their impact on resource utilization and cost management Proficiency in handling numerical data, conducting calculations, and deriving meaningful insights from quantitative information Demonstrated ability to work independently, displaying a high level of responsibility, reliability, and proactive problem-solving skills Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly and concisely Understanding of Database platforms(on-prem, cloud): MS SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL Data lake and DWH concepts and available solutions Azure Cloud management including DB management Azure Cost Optimization Workloads Migration/ASR to Azure Cloud Basic network services: DNS, DHCP, Routing, Firewall, Load Balancer, etc High Availability / Disaster recovery experience with a focus on DB: Clustering FCI/AG/TL, replication, etc Respective Azure/DB certificates are a plus Azure k8s(AKS) experience is a plus DevOps CI/CD experience is a plus Fluent in English, both written and verbal communication
