Training Supervisor Soybean Extraction
This is a full-time, exempt position.
Job Summary:
Overall responsible for the site training program. Provide operational support for the day-to-day operations of production activities and have primary responsibility for updating operating procedures. The role tracks and provides guidance to plant training programs for all departments. This role will assess development through evaluations and assessments, managing expectations and compliance to department stands, and overseeing training progress of site employees.
The Training Supervisor will support the Superintendent and Shift Foreman in areas of daily and weekly scheduling of training, as well as updating standard operating procedures.
Essential Job Functions:Develop and implement the site’s training program.Provide and update training material for shift personnel; initial shift training, continuous training and required PSM training.Provide proficiency training requirements for maintenance personnel.Track operational training for all crush, Bio and load out personnel.Provide proficiency audits and recommendations for future training to superintendents.Provide classroom training as required for all site personnel.Provide feedback, mentorship, and support to the facility through the use of Performance Excellence concepts and toolsInteracts directly with shift supervision and superintendents to schedule training activities.Supports Quality and the Food Safety Management System and possibly as member of that teamAssist in daily operations including shift coverage as neededMaintain a high degree of availability to a 24/7 operation.Update standard operating procedures, including MOC requirements and operator training requirements.Display a commitment to lead, participate in, and support ongoing safety engagement.Serve as a trusted resource for plant and department leaders using PE methods for continuous improvement and sustained results.Support with plant operations by monitoring production to ensure that finished products are shipped on time and in accordance with customer expectationsJob Requirements:Concern for QualityStrong Dedication to SafetyProven leadershipDemonstrated problem solving skillsStrong ability to train people.Good written and verbal communication skillsAbility to lead personnel and work closely with corporate departmentsProficient in Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPointWorking Conditions:DustChemicals / IrritantsSpring / Summer: Temperatures in some areas of the facility will be up to or exceed 100 degrees. Outside you may face inclement weather including, freezing rain, sleet, snow and wind.Some manufacturing processes within the facility are highly reliant on machinery and other processing equipment and, as a result, noise levels may reach or exceed 85 decibels and require use of hearing protection for most of the work shift.Physical Requirements:Able to lift and transport materials and equipment weighing up to 30 pounds on a frequent basis, up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis and up to 55 pounds overhead.Lifting or carrying of weights over 50 pounds is rare. Employees are encouraged to request assistance in lifting or carrying objects that weigh more than 50 pounds.Able to move about or to a work site by stooping, bending, kneeling or squatting frequently. May also require periods of prolonged sitting or standing.Able to operate equipment or diagnose / detect issues of machinery that may be located at different heights. May require work on ladders, scaffolding or other work at heights.Requires a full range of physical motion in order to operate manual and electrically powered tools and test equipment, to move throughout the facility, including climbing stairs in all buildings, and to work at heights.Able to safely and appropriately wear a respirator as conditions require.Excited about this role but don’t meet every requirement listed?
