We are seeking a skilled developer to join our IBM Software team. As part of our team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining high-quality software products, working with various technologies and programming languages.

**Your role and responsibilities**
As a Database Administrator: RDBMS, you are responsible for developing application designs and providing regular support/guidance to project teams on complex coding, issue resolution, and execution.
Your primary responsibilities include:
1. Lead the design and construction of new mobile solutions using the latest technologies, always looking to add business value and meet user requirements.
2. Strive for continuous improvements by testing the build solution and working under an agile framework.
3. Discover and implement the latest technologies and trends to maximize and build creative solutions.
4. Run multiple production DB2 databases with High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) enabled across data centres.
5. Troubleshoot DB slowness and disk/Memory/CPU utilisation and suggest resolutions.
6. Troubleshoot CDC and SQL replication issues.
7. Participate in PagerDuty On-Call rotation.
8. Perform database patches and upgrades without downtime.
9. Linux Red Hat System Administration.
10. Ensure technical modifications do not adversely affect database integrity, stability, and availability.
11. Implement solutions for DB2 database backup and recovery infrastructure.
12. Monitor/maintain/upgrade the DB2 database and assist the application team with performance-tuning initiatives and builds.
13. Assisted in backup and recovery operations, including disaster recovery planning.
14. Ability to design, build and address Continuous Improvement Culture across the environment.
15. Perform database patches and upgrades, avoiding disruption of availability.
16. DBA On-Call: Respond to, diagnose, and resolve DBA pages, including but not limited to Replication failures—CDC and SQL replication (DPROP), disk space thresholds and shortages, system connectivity issues, system issues, DB crashes, DB performance issues, DB Lock issues, and other DB/System failures, i.e., DB2 backup.
**Required technical and professional expertise**
1. Mandatory Skills: LUW/Unix DB2 DBA , Shell Scripting, Linux and AIX knowledge
2. Secondary Skills: Physical DB2 DBA skills, PL/SQL Knowledge and exposure
3. Expert knowledge of IBM DB2 V11.5 installations and configurations administration in Linux /AIX systems.
4. Expert-level knowledge in Database restores, including redirected restore backup concepts.
5. Excellent understanding of database performance monitoring techniques, fine-tuning and ability to perform performance checks query optimization
6. Proven experience in DB2 Database Administration.
7. Strong understanding of DB2 database architecture and design.
8. Experience with High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions.
9. Proficiency in Linux Red Hat System Administration.
10. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex database issues.
11. Experience with CDC and SQL replication.
12. Ability to perform database patches and upgrades without downtime.
13. Experience with database backup and recovery infrastructure.
14. Strong communication skills and ability to work with application teams for performance tuning.
**Preferred technical and professional experience**
1. Good knowledge of utilities like import, load export under high volume conditions.
2. Ability to tune SQLs using db2advisor db2explain, as well as, ability to troubleshoot database issues using db2diag, db2pd, db2dart, db2top tec.
3. Ability to work in a Continuous Improvement Culture.
4. Strong issue resolution skills and ability to escalate and obtain necessary resources.
5. Experience acting as a resource for Application Support teams.
