DC Operations Clerk - Shipping

Purpose:   Supports the operations leadership team by passing direction from the office to the distribution floor. Works closely with operations associates and external drivers to ensure efficient and timely workflow through the Distribution Center.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Responsible for confirming the quantity of cases on trucks, verifying the accuracy of loading sheets, and producing proper outbound billing Checking in/out of external drivers and handling any of their questions/inquiries Communicates directly with carriers on scheduling/pickup timelines Respond to emails in a timely manner and answer incoming phone calls to the Shipping office Manage offline shipping process and work with internal partners on process improvements and maintaining necessary filing Ascertain that all outbound shipments are properly billed and that correlating documents are available with each shipment Process and organize daily Shipping paperwork in a timely fashion and maintain necessary filing Communicate clearly and appropriately with co-workers, contractors, and truck drivers. Ability to develop and share best practices Work directly with export specialist on processing international shipments Contribute to maintaining a safe and orderly working environment Participate in Lean Six Sigma activities Other duties as assigned

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

Excellent verbal and written communication in English Ability to work collaboratively within a large group of co-workers Positive and enthusiastic approach Strong knowledge of shipping and receiving operations in a warehouse environment Performance and metrics driven mindset Proficiency in Excel, Outlook, Word and working knowledge of WMS principles Ability to work in a warehouse environment

 

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications: 

 

High school diploma or GED equivalent required Minimum of two (2) years related distribution experience and/or training Ability to work overtime and weekends as required

•Required to speak, read, write and comprehend the English language
