Position Summary:
The scope of responsibility for this position is to drive and execute all engineering activities to support Disposable Containers (DC) operations and business development. This role drives continuous improvement implementation throughout the DC business process. This role participates as cross-functional team member within assigned goal-oriented team responsibility.
Responsibilities:
• Drive and execute activities to achieve DC’s strategic operational goals and KPIs.
• Actively and objectively seek out, identify, and evaluate opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction in all DC operations related activities.
• Support business development team to qualify, develop and close opportunities while ensuring that the technical and commercial terms meet ABEC’s overall business needs.
• Advise on new DC product and product improvement opportunities.
• Analyze and troubleshoot product and operations issues in a timely fashion.
• Proactively drive integration of ‘Best Practices’ to produce measurable improvements in manufacturing productivity, material costs, lead times and product quality, in an intensive effort to continuously reduce overall manufacturing costs.
• Assure product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes.
• Support customer’s technical needs to enhance customer satisfaction.
• Establish best practices for operations team integration with corporate ERP system to attain efficient flow of materials, effective application of labor and accurate collection of data throughout the entire production cycle.
• Support supply chain in supplier and component qualifications
• Engaged in either operational or administrative process creation, review, or improvement efforts. This includes areas such as Plant Safety, ERP System, Process Review Board, CAPA Program, and others.
• Adhere to all company policies (Safety, Human Resources, IT, or other).
• Perform any other duties and/or tasks that may be assigned on an as needed basis.
• Will play an active role in identifying and driving Continuous Improvement (CI) opportunity.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a similar technical discipline.
• Minimum of 2 years prior experience in an engineering role or equivalent in manufacturing industry
• Proven ability to handle multiple tasks of equal importance concurrently.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with exceptional organizational capabilities.
• Demonstrated ability to positively and effectively communicate and in a variety of complex circumstances. Prior experience in engaging and building relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Deep understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
• Ability to challenge the status quo to evolve business in more efficient and effective manner.
• Ability to work in a Global Environment and to travel.
• Awareness of and prior experience with implementing Continuous Improvement (CI) a plus.
• Prior Lean/Six Sigma experience a plus.
