DC Operations Shift Manager - 2nd Shift

The Production Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating work activities and resources needed to manufacture products, while meeting continuous improvement objectives in accordance with cost, quality, quantity, and safety goals and specifications.

Major Activities

Production Management

Reviews daily plan, forecast and production orders concerning inventory and staffing requirements; work procedures and duty assignments; to successfully meet time-line and budget goalsDirects and/or coordinates production activities while driving safety, quality and efficiency to meet facility objectivesPrepares and maintains production reportsDevelops budgets and approves expenditures for supplies, materials, or human resources, ensuring that materials, labor, and/or equipment are used efficiently to meet productionInitiates inventory and cost control programsCoordinates and recommends procedures for facility or equipment maintenance or modification, including the replacement of machines

Leadership

Trains, develops, and evaluates production supervisorsSupport other leaders in strategic objectives; drive SQETResolves employee relations issuesLeads and promotes positive Team Member engagementImplements and monitors plans in support of Team Member development in QMPManages Team Member performance/developmentProvides administrative support for Supervisory staffDrives continuous improvement/teams and is a change leader for new projects, processes, standards, and procedures

Quality

Develops or implements production tracking or quality control systems, analyzing production, quality control, maintenance, and other operation reports to detect production issues/problemsReviews operations and confers with technical and administrative staff to resolve production issues/problemsEnsures all equipment is functioning at optimal levels.  Coordinates and recommends procedures for facility or equipment maintenance or modification, including the replacement of machinesCreate professional presentations to include detailed product introduction timeline and raw material delivery schedules; provide weekly progress reports

Safety & Organization

Demonstrates leadership to maintain a clean plant, promoting safe and efficient operationFollows and proactively drives all safety requirements; communicating and/or addressing safety concerns in a timely mannerWears appropriate safety equipment at all times

Minimum Education

Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience in lieu of degree

Minimum Type of experience the job requires

Minimum 3 years in progressive leadership roles preferably within a manufacturing environment.

Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently; convey and receive informationKnowledge of products, production processes, quality control, strategic planning, costs and efficiency; resulting in maximum effectiveness of manufacturing processDetail-oriented and accurateKeen sense of urgencyStrong verbal communication and interpersonal skills including coaching, collaborating, and providing constructive feedbackAbility to critically analyze problems and develop effective solutionsExcellent time management, organizational and prioritization skills

Preferred Education

Bachelors Degree in Industrial Engineering or related field preferred

Preferred Special Certifications or technical skills

2 years’ Lean Manufacturing; Six Sigma
