Responsibilities
+ Perform testing and inspection of fire alarm systems per NFPA and local code standards, noting existing and potential deficiencies.
+ Functionally test Initiating Devices, Notification Appliances, and all other peripherals and system components.
+ Communicate system performance and deficiencies to customers for accurate and efficient quoting of recommended repairs.
+ Perform under supervision pre-testing and final inspections for assigned projects.
+ Determine materials needed for repairs and order them.
+ Perform all duties required to successfully complete projects within estimate and according to specifications.
+ Respond to service requests, diagnose system malfunctions of fire alarms and adjust, repair or replace equipment as needed to bring into compliance.
+ Perform under supervision installation of low voltage systems.
+ Perform under supervision PITCO activities.
+ Read blueprints and drawing
+ May require some overtime hours at night, on weekends, and at a moment’s notice for emergency calls.
+ Must be flexible in adapting to changes in priorities, work assignments, and other interruptions that may impact pre-established courses of action for completing or progressing with projects and assignments.
Qualifications
+ A High School diploma or GED with at least 4 years of experience.
+ Lift at least 100 pounds at one time and 60 pounds for an extended period.
+ Relocate a 12-foot stepladder without assistance.
+ Work at various heights up to 60 feet and can climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, and all types of ladders.
+ Walk, climb, lift, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull and reach overhead on a routine and repetitive basis.
+ Must be able to achieve and maintain security clearance.
**Desired Skills:**
+ Excellent troubleshooting skills including, researching online, and system manuals to resolve problems
+ Ability to operate various types of test equipment including audibility and intelligibility test equipment.
+ Exceptional work ethic and attention to detail
+ Exceptional communication skills with customers, other field personnel, office staff and sub-contractors.
**Abilities**
+ Lifts at least 100 pounds at one time and 60 pounds for an extended period of time.

+ Possess good vision (may be corrected vision), the ability to see in color, and the ability to hear and communicate in English.
+ May use a standard ladder without exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools.
+ Tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.
+ Apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
+ Combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (including finding a relationship among seemingly unrelated events).
