Zions Capital Markets is seeking a well-qualified professional to join its Debt Capital Markets group as a Loan Syndications Director in Los Angeles, CA.  

Essential Functions:

Responsible to establish/maintain relationships with representatives of relevant third-party lenders across assigned coverage segment and identify opportunities to proactively deepen and expand those relationships.  

Leverage professional network to effectuate new business and successful syndication and loan sales.  

Provide deal execution support to front office banking/RM teams as needed.  

Responsible for preparation/negotiation of market clearing provisions in legal documents.  

Coordination and review of third-party due diligence materials.  

Reviews and assists with edits of deal financial models.  

Answer questions/comments from third-party lenders and borrowers pertaining to the above materials.  

Represent the Loan Syndications Group in discussions with senior management and credit committees.  

Provides marketing support to front office banking/RM teams.  

Prepares or reviews marketing materials for presentation to borrowers and/or third-party lenders.  

Attend borrower meetings to represent the Loan Syndications group alongside representatives of banking/RM teams.  

Represents the bank in interactions with third-party lenders, both over the phone and offsite meetings/conferences.  

Assist with internal projects associated with the build-out of the Loan Syndications Group and/or improvement of associated processes/procedures.  

Serve as primary Loan Syndications Group contact on assigned transactions for third-party lenders, credit administrators, senior management and loan officers/Relationship Managers.  

Stays current on market and industry trends.  

Coordinates preparation and updates of internal communications and reports to senior management.  

Maintains active outreach to assigned business units and cultivate constructive working relationships with the bankers and managers in those areas.  

Has authority to issue signed syndication opinions and the responsibility for resulting market risk outcomes.  

Direct supervisory responsibilities and quantitative production targets.  

Significant travel required.  

Other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications:

Requires a Bachelor's degree in finance, business, accounting or a related field and 10+ years of related experience. A combination of education and experience may meet job requirements.  

Demonstrated track record of high academic achievement.  

Direct experience (10+ yrs) in commercial banking, investment banking, leveraged finance or other debt capital markets-oriented role.  

Some supervisory or management experience required.  

A combination of education and experience may meet requirements.  

FINRA Series 79 (or grandfathered Series 7), Series 63 will be required.  

Requires an in-depth knowledge of complex credit structures, relevant capital markets, credit analysis, administration policies, procedures and techniques.  

Advanced analytical and reasoning skills.  

Ability to work effectively with all levels of staff.  

Advanced knowledge in the assigned lending specialty or market segment.  

Excellent evaluation, problem resolution and communication skills, both written and verbal.  

Demonstrated management skills.  

Extensive professional network of relevant industry contacts.  

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.  

Excellent decision making, problem resolution and strong analytical skills. 

This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $180,000 - $240,000 annually depending on job-related factors such as level of experience.   

The base salary range for this position is listed above. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based on personal, team, and the Bank's overall performance. Compensation ranges are based on several factors including job function, level, and geographic location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed here.
