The role

As a Defence Solution Lead, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Designing and developing a holistic integrated technical solution.

 

Day-to-day, you’ll have the following responsibilities: 

Create innovative themes for service delivery and proposal documents that offer differentiators from competitors whilst leading and manage the design and development of the bid solution, leveraging expertise of workstream leads and/or subject matter experts. Lead the development of the WBS, OBS, CBS and programme master schedule owning the organisation structure and resource demand for delivery and communicate to the appropriate resource supply owner(s). Provide the Campaign Lead with a comprehensive understanding of the solution RAIDO (risks, assumptions, issues, dependencies, and opportunities) and how they can be mitigated, managed and/or leveraged as appropriate. Develop the pricing model alongside the Finance Lead that aligns to the Pricing Strategy, coordinating inputs from business unit and sector subject matter experts. Support interdependent business winning activities as the single point of authority for the Solution (e.g., Green Review, Governance, clarifications, and negotiations).

 

Essential experience of the Defence Solution Lead:

Has previously designed and delivered a winning technical solution for a major MOD or Civil Service procurement (Category A £400m+). With an in depth understanding of the MOD and with a clear understanding of current customer challenges and requirements. Proven history in designing technical solutions within defence procurement and developing technical support and enabling service architectures for defence.  Experienced in working with and managing multi-disciplined teams on large complex business winning programmes. Whilst using Systems Thinking and Design Thinking for complex solution design in bids. Experience of relevant customer procurement/ bid processes and procedures  Able to work within a structured programme and bid/project management processes. and to communicate cogent and succinct technical solutions and architectures throughout the bid process. Knowledge of the Aviation sector and RAF is desirable

Qualifications for the Defence Solution Lead:

Educated to degree level or equivalent relevant industry experience.

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain BPSS security clearance for this role.
