The Defense Software Engineer II will implement, execute, develop, and test software architecture. The selected candidate will provide software configuration updates, troubleshooting, and testing. The selected candidate will work under minimal supervision and receive a moderate level of guidance and direction to write code, script, and documentation for vehicle systems integration using knowledge of Application Programming Interface (API), coding languages, and layers of software development while continuing to further build their knowledge of the organization, processes, and customers. The selected candidate may provide informal guidance to colleagues with less experience.

To be considered for a Defense Software Engineer II, you will need:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field, or equivalent work experienceMinimum 2 years of relevant software experienceU.S Citizenship allowing for International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) compliance Experience with In-Vehicle Software architecture and designStrong working knowledge of software languages, technologies, methodologies, API's, database, and Pub/SubStrong working knowledge of software technology architecture and configurationWorking knowledge of multi-system integration, Internet of Things (IOT), web app development, and distributed systems integrationWorking knowledge of best practices in documentation of software and software developmentAbility to develop in C, C++, Python

A successful candidate may also have:

Master’s degree in computer science or a related technical fieldExtensive experience with Agile process methodologiesExperience developing and writing requirements definitionsExperience in software development, configuration, and testingExperience with the engineering and integration of military ground vehicle electronics systems and subsystemsWorking knowledge of Vetronics systems and applicationStrong understanding of business processes: creation, refinement, and gap analysesProven ability to interface with software, network, and hardware development & integration teamsDetail-oriented with the ability to quickly assimilate and apply new concepts, business models, and technologiesAbility to develop in QT
