We are looking for an engineering intern to join our growing team in Defense Engineering for the summer of 2025. Within Defense you will work on projects from Department of Defense, State, and Homeland Security.  This is a 40-hour-per-week paid internship position located in Troy, MI.

As a Defense Software Engineering Intern, you will:

Develop and execute in-vehicle software architecture with the team.Assist in writing and debugging code in C and C++.Diagnose problems and conduct root cause analysis.Coordinate with engineering leads from software, electrical and mechanical.Support product development testingWork on unique engineering problems and challenge your engineering skillsApply your academic knowledge to real world engineering challengesTackle unique challenges never taken on beforeTo be considered a Defense Software Engineering Intern, you will need:Must be a U.S. citizen for International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) complianceMust be able to work a 40+ hour work week from May 2025 - August 2025Must currently be pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer engineering, software engineering, or a related fieldMust have a minimum of freshman standingMust be proficient in MS OfficeMust have strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.Must love solving complex problems, learning new technologies, and collaborating and in a fast-paced engineering environment.Must be able to think outside the box and enjoy research and development type activitiesA successful candidate may also have:Knowledge of networking protocols like TCP/IP, UDP, or CANExperience with simulation and modeling tools such as MATLAB/SimulinkExperience with Data Distribution Service (DDS)Understanding of software development lifecycle, version control, and agile methodologiesPrior internship experience in a software or defense related environmentInterest in defense, robotics, networking or embedded systems
