The Opportunity with McKinstry

We are adding a DEI Program Director to our growing Social Impact team in Seattle, WA.  The Program Director leads strategy and execution of enterprise programs focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion. You will also lead and manage ERGs. Additionally, some responsibilities you will have include:

Leads strategy, management and execution of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) activities and programs in alignment with our Action for Impact aspiration and strategic plan. Leads and manages strategy and day-to-day activities of McKinstry’s employee resource groups, called Alliances; oversees program implementation; provides guidance and direction to Alliances; implements program enhancements that advance overarching program goals. Identifies, manages and leads execution of internal DEI programs and initiatives that support a culture of inclusion and belonging. Fosters conversation and connection opportunities through programs like Building Bridges, national holiday recognitions (e.g. WIC Week, Pride Month, Veterans Day, etc.), etc. Leads development of a 5-year DEI strategic plan; establishes annual operating plans.    Actively monitors the national and local landscape; makes recommendations to manage risk and ensure ongoing success of McKinstry’s DEI program. Develops annual goals and objectives to advance program outcomes; monitors program KPIs; understands and evaluates program impact. Maintains exceptional relationship with internal stakeholders including senior leaders to advance program goals; builds trust with business partners across the organization. Manages confidential and sensitive information with high-level of discretion. Maintains accountability for all program deliverables; ensures all deliverables are high-quality, impactful, and professional.

What You Need to Succeed at McKinstry

Demonstrated passion for and support of diversity/equity/inclusion, sustainability, and community service required. Post-secondary credential or equivalent work experience required. Master’s degree desired; relevant industry credentials desired. 15+ years of professional experience in a corporate social responsibility/ESG, DEI, or program director role required. Experience with successfully managing and leading employee resource groups (ERGs) required. Experience developing and leading DEI strategy and programs at a medium to large organization required. High degree of understanding of DEI topics including bias, intersectionality, identity, belonging, inclusion, etc. required. Demonstrated relationship-building and leadership skills required; ability to inspire, motivate, and empower people from all walks of life required. Highly proficient with Microsoft products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Sharepoint, and Power BI required.

The pay range for this position is $99,270 - $169,900 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base pay information is based on market location. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
