Location: Glastonbury, Somerset

Hours: 40 hours per week - 9 Month fixed term contract

 

What will you be responsible for?

As a Delivery Manager, you'll be working within the Planned Works team, supporting them in delivering planned structural works elements of highways maintenance activities on the Somerset Highways Term Service contract, overseeing the timely development / delivery of planned works for Kier.

Your day to day will include:

Fully contribute towards Somerset's achievement of performance management framework outcomes through the best possible operational outputs, assisting the Planned Works Manager in the programming, management and delivery of all works,liaising with supply chain maintaining delivery timeframes, quality and Kier minimum standards Self-management and management of the Planned Works team by taking responsibility for your own and their personnel development, motivation, performance, behaviour, health, safety and general wellbeing through the application of appropriate policies, procedures and management techniques, working closely with the Programme & Performance Manager coordinating maintenance and scheme works to budget time constraints Making decisions and recommendations based on sound rationale, influencing the development and implementation of strategies for positive change, being an ambassador for Kier, delivering meaningful, convincing and motivational communications internally and externally to a wide range of audiences Work collaboratively with others, building relationships and a network of contacts delivering the best outcomes for people and places in Somerset, accounting for and responding to customer satisfaction and future needs Responding to financial pressure by being creative, innovative and cost-focused, exercising strong financial judgement and risk management to secure optimum efficiency savings, cost reductions and profitability without sacrificing service quality, ensuring the timely operational delivery of programmed planned work through efficient and effective deployment of available resources, regulating resources across all forms of work activity

 

What are we looking for?

This role of Delivery Manager is great for you if:

You can lead and motivate teams successfully, with experience working within the highways industry including knowledge of network operations and scheme delivery, with in-depth knowledge of highway / finance law, guidance and processes across a range of highway infrastructure operational delivery functions, along with extensive experience of obtaining high levels of operational productivity and profitability in a commercial environment Hold an SSSTS or higher, can drive and possess a full driving licence Are able to communicate with a range of stakeholders in a persuasive manner
