Job Summary:
We are looking for a passionate and self-motivated Delivery Manager committed to delivering exceptional business outcomes by accelerating innovation, engineering excellence, and high-touch collaboration. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in leading Agile product and digital engineering teams, with a specific focus on the life science or healthcare industry.
The successful candidate will be well-versed in both technical and program management skills, with Agile expertise and a proven track record of successfully delivering innovative products and solutions that meet customer needs and contribute to the overall success of the organization.
Essential Skills & Responsibilities:
1. Technical Leadership:
- Provide hands-on technical leadership in solution architecture, design, and delivery using the .NET and Azure stack.
- Experience with clinical healthcare projects using HL7 and FHIR is a plus.
- Familiarity with the global delivery model, working with multidisciplinary teams across multiple geographies.
- Ability to convert business problems into opportunities through consultative solutions.
- Demonstrated flexibility in handling tactical issues while also being able to think strategically.
- Expertise in crisis/problem management, with a proactive approach to expediting problem resolution.
- Act as a coach to teams, fostering collaboration and improved outcomes.
- Experience building large concurrent projects and programs from the ground up.
- Manage technical risks effectively, using mitigation and communication strategies.
- Establish software engineering tools, standards, processes, and best practices.
2. Project Management Skills:
- In-depth understanding of various project management tools, techniques, strategies, and processes.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and time management skills.
- Sound knowledge of Agile principles and the ability to manage and coach Scrum teams as needed.
- Ability to anticipate challenges and roadblocks, and effectively remove obstacles that could derail the project.
- Proactively track and report on metrics and progress to stakeholders.
3. Program Management Expertise:
- Create and maintain a detailed technical project plan aligned with the client’s vision.
- Ensure all project artifacts—technical project plans, designs, test plans, and standards—are defined and reviewed jointly with the customer.
- Manage team changes, ensuring project deliverables are met with adequate communication to stakeholders, and transition plans are in place with backup resources.
- Regularly schedule milestone reviews, post-mortems, post-release analysis, and audits to evaluate standard business processes and process improvements.
- Provide proactive and clear feedback to leadership and stakeholders on project status.
- Escalate concerns to Delivery Management as appropriate, mitigating risks in a timely manner.
- Ensure technical quality is maintained and pull in expertise from relevant practices as needed.
- Never compromise on quality to meet deadlines; it’s better to be seen as slow than to deliver poor-quality results.
4. Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to express viewpoints clearly, directly, and with respect.
- Demonstrates assertive communication, fostering healthy team dynamics and decision-making.
- Strong sense of personal accountability regarding decision-making and supervising teams.
- Proven experience mentoring and training rising talent in the technology field.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Information Technology or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience as a Project Manager with at least 5+ years of experience as a Delivery Manager.
- Minimum 8 years of experience working in a customer/client-focused delivery model, preferably within the Life Sciences or Clinical Solutions industry.
- Extensive experience managing large customer engagements with global teams (50+ team members), delivering multiple services offered by the provider organization.
