Delivery Ops Infrastructure TPM, Data Center Planning Delivery (AMER)
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we’re looking for talented people who want to help.

You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. And you’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.

We’re seeking an experienced Infrastructure Technical Program Manager in Seattle, WA, Herndon, VA, or Arlington, VA to manage delivery operations programs with large-scale capacity delivery impact.

A Technical Infrastructure Program Manager (TIPM) for the AMER Data Center Capacity Delivery, Delivery Operations team develops, leads, and executes centralized strategies for reliably delivering builds on time to meet customer need-by-dates, thus improving or maintaining capacity delivery health across 300+ data center builds and over 20 AZs.

This role drives operational excellence, by: 1) deep diving critical delivery metrics and data, 2) identifying solutions that minimize blockers and delays, and 3) using knowledge of infrastructure builds to advise or influence business decisions that have cross-region impact. The role requires a high level of organization and coordination as new risks and issues emerge, and depends on the use of existing mechanisms or establishing new mechanisms altogether to do so. This role integrates key initiatives across Capacity Delivery and partner teams, identifying best practices via process and policy development and implementing them across the region by tracking action items, developing process changes, and launching new tools.

This role conducts deep dive sessions, solutions, and goals that may have a global impact. As such, this role involves coordination with EMEA and APAC Delivery Ops TIPMs/PMs and their leaders as well as partner teams (e.g., Global Security, Networking, Design Engineering, Real Estate, Construction, Long Lead Equipment) to minimize duplication of effort, but most importantly, to arrive at solutions that prioritize builds and customer needs appropriately.

You will use your judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence without authority, analytical talent, technical aptitude, and leadership to collaborate with a diverse set of stakeholders across multiple time zones, eliminate non-value-add activity, design solutions, remove blockers, and find creative ways to invent and simplify centralized functions.

In the first 90-180 days you can expect to 1) dive deep on build timelines, creating a sustainable way to measure performance and keep these updated across multiple partner teams 2) own an on time delivery strategic initiative (such as working with the network team to understand emerging requirement, security changes and risks), aimed at improving our ability to deliver builds on time 3) develop and deploy a mechanism for tracking risks across the regional team.
