Deloitte Risk & Financial Advisory Intern – Strategic Risk

Have a passion for turning challenges and opportunities into long-term competitive advantages?  As an Intern in Deloitte Risk & Financial Advisory, you’ll have the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience working alongside leading professionals and directly with our clients across diverse industries while building your professional skills in a variety of project experiences.  Our Deloitte Risk & Financial Advisory practice helps organizations effectively navigate business risks and opportunities—from financial, operational and regulatory risks to strategic, reputational and external enterprise risks—to gain competitive advantage.

 

 

Work you’ll do

As an Intern, you will have the opportunity to work on projects leveraging your expertise to help our clients more confidently make decisions to drive performance. The issues we help our clients with are complex and require critical thinking and sophisticated solutions – the type of solutions that are best created by people who have the courage and confidence to challenge convention, and the humility to build on the work of others. We help our clients to better understand and establish governance, processes, personnel, and capabilities necessary to preserve and create value.

 

Specific areas of work could include:

 

Support clients with their most pressing strategic and operational challenges. Help them to identify, respond to, monitor, and report on enterprise risks and create value to become a resilient enterpriseHelp clients to embrace their most strategic risks, provide a platform of advisory services that enable senior executives to plan for, spot, assess, manage, and respond to brand and reputational, financial, catastrophic risks and unforeseen threats that could undermine their competitive position and jeopardize their critical assets, reputation or financial standingAssist with implementation of capabilities that enable organizations to respond to and recover from events in a more responsive and adaptive mannerIdentify and evaluate complex business and strategic risks, and create actionable response plans to address these risks

 

Regardless of project type, your work may require:

Proficiency in verbal and written communication skills essential to interacting with clients and teamsAbility to work independently and manage multiple projects/assignments/ responsibilities in a fast-paced environmentProblem solving and critical thinking skills in support of both innovative and operational enhancement opportunitiesAbility to collaborate and communicate across Deloitte team members and client stakeholdersAbility to identify, learn, understand, and implement new concepts, frameworks and emerging technologiesAbility to manage own personal and professional development; seek opportunities for professional growth and expansion of consulting skills and experienceA strong understanding of Windows Based systems and proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPointA strong ability to learn creative storyboarding skills and apply to PowerPoint materials

 

Qualifications

Required:

Pursuing a Bachelor or Master’s degrees in the following disciplines:Enterprise Risk Management or Business-related degree with a concentration in management information systems, organization behavior, business analytics or other business management related areasStrong academic track record with extracurricular activities (cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above)Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the futureCandidates must be at least 18 years of age at the time of employmentAbility to travel up to 50%, on average, based on business and client needsOur current work environment is a hybrid approach which meansYou should reside within a commutable distance of your assigned office with the ability to commute daily, if requiredYou can expect to be co-located on average 30-50% a week with variations based on business and client needs

 

Preferred:

Cumulative GPA of 3.2 or aboveRelevant work experience or work experience in a professional environment (e.g. internships, summer positions, school jobs)Demonstrated recent leadership, such as in a campus club, society, sports teams or other activityDemonstrated recent social impact or volunteer activity

 

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $39.42/hour to $40.38/hour.
