KEY PURPOSE OF ROLE:
This position drives effectively the monthly Sales & Operations (S&OP) Planning Process for assigned product lines, including development & implementation of strategies to support product launch planning, inventory & scrap management, product rationalization and monitoring of key demand planning performance indicators. The Demand and Supply Planning Specialist is also responsible for executing and monitoring of all supply & distribution planning activities to ensure timely availability of material while meeting inventory targets, minimizing obsolescence, and optimizing costs. Overall responsibility includes ensuring accurate business assumptions and integration with business plans to reduce forecast error. Owning finished goods inventory target methodology used across global distribution sites for assigned products.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Demand Planning & Forecasting
Lead monthly S&OP review meetings and challenge the assumptions and numbers provided in the analysis in order to solicit functional knowledge to improve forecast accuracy.Submit periodic Net Requirement Forecast through SAP, based on cross-functional discussions, analyses on sales forecast, new product launches, phase-in/ out schedule, etc.Work closing with sales and marketing teams, regulatory, global planning, and local supply chain team striving to provide and accurate demand signal.Supply Planning
Review and manage STOs generated by system to minimize manual process.Place manual STOs when required.Follow up and expedite shipment with distribution centers/ factories/ suppliers.Determine and maintain SNP parameters in SNP Inventory Planning and ControlInventory Planning and Control
Drive phase-in/ out processes for assigned product lines.Communicate implementation plans (and relevant changes) to geographies consistent with marketing & integrated business plansEnsure inventory policies & LBE targets are met by working closely with commercial, marketing and finance team to create appropriate inventory control.Monitor safety stock and reorder points without hampering the customer service levelsMonitor and reduce scrapMonitor DOH and drive DOH reductionMonitor backorder and Line Fill RateContribute to phase-in/ phase-out processes for assigned product lines.Communicate implementation plans (and relevant changes) to geographies consistent with Marketing & integrated business plansCoordinate inventory allocation and/ or transfer during times of supply constraint or in excess.Reporting
Create reports on sales/ demand forecast accuracy, run-rate, inventory, short UBD, expiry etc.Maintain forecasts and planning factors in demand planning system.Continuous Improvement
Execute continuous improvement of forecasting process while maintaining costs and scrap rate at appropriate level.Drive inventory optimization and DOH for cost saving.Provide trainings to team members to enhance quality of work.Other Functions and Responsibilities
Execute the job responsibilities according to applicable standard operating procedures (SOPs) of AbbottPrepare for Audits, Compliances & SOX, etc., Documentations.Ensure applicable SOPs of Abbott executed.Backup Supply Planning/ Customer Service/ Freight & Distribution functions and when required.Responsible for Ad hoc projects as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS: Describe the minimum education and experience, including knowledge, skills and abilities, required to successfully perform the job. List any certificates and/or registration required.
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics Management, or any related field.At least 6 years plus of related work experience (Materials Management, Manufacturing, Planning, or combined experience).Working Knowledge of SAP APO or equivalent different ERP module.Demonstrates excellent telephone and interpersonal communications skills Good Written & Spoken English Communication SkillsAble to work independently and as part of teamAble to organize and prioritize workDemonstrates basic level of computer literacy with high numerical accuracyHave in-depth knowledge of various forecasting techniques, root cause analysis as well as ERP systemsOTHER FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
