About the opportunity  

We have a 15-month, full-time fixed term opportunity for an experienced Demand & Merchandise Inventory Planner to join our team. As part of this role, you will oversee the entire demand and inventory planning process for the Philatelic and General Postage categories, focusing on driving sales, optimising inventory and enhancing capital outcomes through effective product lifecycle management, all while ensuring consistent service levels.
 
This is a pivotal role in orchestrating an efficient inventory management system to drive sales and optimise resources.

What you’ll deliver with us  

Supporting our corporate, online and licensed networks, you will manage inventory holding and carrying costs, unit level planning, and maintain stock levels in distribution centres. Using grading and segmentation techniques, as Planner you will ensure efficient inventory levels and high in-stock rates. This is an inherently cross-functional position, requiring robust engagement with various stakeholders across the organisation.

You’ll also   

Provide a forecast unit inventory plan based on a demand forecast to support efficiency in the supply chainEnsure the accuracy and integrity of finished inventories ($8m+) and manage the end-to-end lifecycle of physical inventories including all obsolescence and write off processes.Support and develop category reporting and analysis for the planning & category management functionDay to day management of warehouse and store in stocks whilst driving effective use of working capital.


About you  

We are looking for an experienced professional with an inventory, merchandising, production, warehouse or FMCG background. You will have knowledge and understanding of retail inventory management functions, processes, and systems.  Proven experience in stakeholder engagement as well as communicating with, influencing, and advising key external suppliers to achieve desired outcomes.

 

You’ll also need   

Min 5 years relevant production planning or merchandise planning experience in a multi category environment.  Demonstrated experience sales, margin and inventory budgeting and forecasting in a retailer or manufacturing environment Demonstrated experience planning to support a retail promotional program.  Broad understanding of the supply chain process.  Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.  Experience in managing a broad stakeholder group.
