We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical Demand Planner to support our Sub Same Day (SSD) delivery program across U.S. metros. In this role, you’ll partner closely with a senior planner on the team to generate demand forecasts, monitor network performance, and deliver actionable insights. Your contributions will directly support strategic decisions around capacity planning, site expansion, and customer experience.
This is a high-impact role ideal for individuals with a strong analytical foundation, a bias for action, and a passion for solving ambiguous, cross-functional problems. You’ll have significant ownership over recurring forecasting and reporting processes, while also growing your skills in experimentation, data modeling, and strategic planning within one of Amazon’s most dynamic logistics programs.
Key job responsibilities
* Develop and refine weekly demand forecasts for the U.S. Sub Same Day (SSD) delivery network, using internal models and custom analysis.
* Partner with a senior planner and cross-functional teams—including operations, product, and finance—to align forecasts with business drivers and planned changes.
* Analyze weekly demand trends and surface insights to leadership to improve forecast accuracy and network efficiency.
* Contribute to special projects such as site launch sizing, promotional demand estimates, and scenario modeling for network changes.
* Assist in building tools and reports that improve the visibility and usability of forecast data across the org.
* Intermediate to advanced Excel skills required; SQL or Redshift proficiency is a strong plus.
A day in the life
You’ll start your day reviewing forecast performance and investigating changes in customer demand. Throughout the day, you’ll collaborate with a senior planner and partner teams to refine demand inputs, troubleshoot anomalies, and deliver reporting that informs operational decisions. You’ll contribute to regular performance reviews, dive deep into forecasting models, and support planning for new delivery sites and initiatives. The pace is fast, the problems are ambiguous, and your work will directly support one of Amazon’s most ambitious delivery programs.

We’re a small, high-ownership team supporting the Sub Same Day delivery program—Amazon’s fastest shipping promise. We sit at the intersection of forecasting, operations, and product, working closely with leaders across the business to enable speed and reliability for our customers. Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of program or project management experience
- 3+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience
- 3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience
- 2+ years of supply chain experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Knowledge of Excel at an intermediate level (e.g., pivot tables & charts, multiple criteria lookups, nested logical/IF formulas, data cleansing, array formulas, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience
- 3+ years of driving process improvements experience
- Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
- Experience identifying and resolving complex issues
- Knowledge of SQL at an intermediate level, including: compile queries, subqueries, aggregation/grouping, data modification, etc.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $77,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $141,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
