Job Description: Demand Planner – Industrial America’s

Position Description:

The purpose of this role is to support Axalta’s Industrial Business. The individual will be the voice of the customer that will drive Demand, Supply, and Inventory decisions to support the Industrial business in NA.  The individual will collaborate with the account teams, product managers, and various business functions around demand requirements and new business opportunities to meet required timelines. This person will be responsible for meeting the inventory metrics associated with Industrial business in NA.  Indirect managerial responsibilities and/or provide functional guidance to other work streams (i.e. customer service, production planning, master scheduling, detailed scheduling, procured planning, sales and marketing teams) within the business.

Principal Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the successful candidate will include but not limited to:

Perform the day-to-day tasks to support the Industrial Business in North America.  This includes forecasting, updating supply notes and hosting demand calls with commercial team.  Maintaining shutdown list and interact with operations to help set the daily priorities. 

Manage forecast in SAP / IBP/ other.Track back orders.Interact with Sales, Operations, Technical and Product GroupManage Shutdown tracking.Work with Master Scheduler to ensure production is scheduled and will meet customer requirements.

Works with the CSR’s to resolve daily issues including supply, logistics and delivery. Support the North American Industrial Managers to meet customer production requirements.

Quickly resolve Back OrdersMaking sure we have inventory available to meet customer requirements.Manage phase out / phase in process.Manage the variability in production at our customers.

Work with product group to launch and obsolete codes as required.

Manage trial batch list, work account teams to prioritize trial batch timing.Request new GMC creations as needed at appropriate plants.Set up BOMS / Routings of new products to support production planning. Manage phase out inventory to zero.Host New Business Opportunity process.

Inventory Management

Look for opportunities to lower inventory yet meet customer requirements.Manage consignment inventory at our APC consignment locations.Manage inventory heath to support inventory SOX processes.

Manage Supply Chain KPI’s to help drive Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory and Cost improvements.  

Forecast AccuracyOTIFNon-Productive Inventory

Support the IBP Process to support the North American Industrial markets in the areas of service levels, performance against production schedules, inventory strategy, demand planning and supply planning.

Collaboration with commercial groupsTracking KPI’s, preparing slides and presenting as needed.

Required Skills
•  Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline
•  Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in planning for a manufacturing company.  
•  Ability to present and lead meetings with cross functional teams
•  Strong background in Microsoft Suite and Excel (V-lookups, pivots, tables, reports)
•  SAP experience 
•  Strong problem solving, analytical skills and the ability to make decisions independently.

 

Preferred Skills
•  CPIM / APICS certification highly preferred
•  SAP / IBP highly preferred
