Job Summary
The Demand Planner is responsible to ensure timely supply of materials to the plant for uninterrupted production processing and servicing customers at a best in class level under single plant and/or low complexity.This is a full time position, located at 310 Frankston-Dandenong Rd, Dandenong South, Victoria 3175 and reports to the Planning Manager.
Responsibilities/Description:
• Plan both short- and long-term to align supply and demand to support inventory needs
• Facilitate collaboration meetings with stakeholders and vendors to review purchase forecasts, proposed orders, and other operational issues
• Monitor movement of materials through purchasing, storage, production, and retail distribution
• Set preferred stock levels and prevent excess inventory
• Solve problems of raw material shortages;
• Liaise with the local material coordinators/ site supply chain managers to ensure a smooth and aligned day-to-day planning process;
• Optimization and continuous improvement of material availability; global inventory days; inventory write-off; and obsolete/slow moving inventory.
• Design and create new tools to help improve the planning functions of supply chain
• Manage relationships with key suppliers to maintain quality of goods, timely delivery, and compliance to terms of contracts
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration or related fields.
• 3-5 years experience in operational planning or a similar role
• Knowledge of MS Office tools (specially Excel)
• Excellent business English communication skills
• Effective communication skills
• Analytical and quantitative skills
• Ability to handle high-pressure situations
• Accountability
• Continuous improvement attitude
Training / Certifications:
• SAP, APO, MRP training on functional areas of expertise
• APICS Module I (Basics of Supply Chain Management) training
