Demand Planning Analyst

**What's the role?**
Reporting to the Demand Planning Manager, the Demand Planning Analyst plays a key role in supporting the demand planning process within News Corp Australia.
This role involves analysing historical sales data, market trends, and external factors to forecast future demand for products. The analyst will collaborate closely with sales, marketing, and supply chain teams to ensure alignment on demand projections and ensure product availability while minimizing excess inventory.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ **Demand Forecasting:** Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts using historical data, sales trends, and input from stakeholders.
+ **Data Analysis:** Analyse sales data, stock levels, and market conditions to identify trends and opportunities for improvement in forecasting accuracy.
+ **Collaboration:** Work with sales, marketing, and supply chain teams to understand upcoming promotions, and market shifts that could impact demand.
+ **Inventory Optimisation:** Ensure that demand forecasts are aligned with stock targets, avoiding sellouts and excess inventory.
+ **Continuous Improvement:** Assist in the development and implementation of demand planning processes, tools, and techniques to improve forecast accuracy and planning efficiency.
+ **Scenario Planning:** Conduct scenario planning to evaluate potential demand changes due to seasonality, product lifecycle changes, or other influencing factors.
+ **Data Integrity:** Ensure the accuracy and consistency of demand data in the planning systems and take action to resolve discrepancies.
**Who are you?**
+ **Education:** Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Economics, Statistics or a related field.
+ **Experience:** 2+ years of experience in demand planning, supply chain, or a related analytical role.
+ **Analytical Skills:** Strong proficiency in data analysis, with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights.
+ **Technical Skills:** Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and data visualisation. Familiarity with demand planning software and analytics tools such as Power BI is a plus.
+ **Communication:** Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments.
+ **Attention to Detail:** Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain data accuracy while managing multiple priorities.
+ **Problem-Solving:** Ability to think critically and proactively address challenges related to demand and inventory management.
+ **Team Player:** Ability to work well in cross-functional teams and contribute to the overall success of the demand planning process.
