The primary purpose of this position DEMAND PROGRAM SPECIALIST, NH-0301-02 is to serve as a Forecast Demand Specialist within the Preproduction Section involved in performing long/mid-range and short-term material planning for the repair, overhaul, manufacturer, and modification of various complex weapon systems as well as a variety of associated assets. Responsibilities Develop Collaborative Demand Plan for Consumable Items. Evaluate and forecasts the material requirements for a wide variety of commodities, aircraft, or missiles, etc. Assess material changes/requirements identified during bill of materials (BOM) reviews. Perform material studies to accurately determine piece parts requirements and when they are needed in the repair process, to include parts obsolescence and interchangeable/ substitutable. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least 3 years of progressively responsible experience, 1 year of which was equivalent to the next lower broadband NH-01, equivalent to the next lower grade GS-4, or equivalent in other pay systems. Generalized experience is experience in: the ability to analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions; plan and organize work; and communicate effectively orally and in writing. OR EDUCATION: The successful completion of a 4-year course study leading to a bachelor's degree. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts. OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: An equivalent combination of successfully completed, qualifying education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements. General experience directly related to the work of the position may be used to meet the requirements of this position. Education in excess of a post-high school education may be used to qualify applicants for the NH-02 level. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of a broad range of analysis techniques and possession of analytical and evaluative abilities/methods. Extensive knowledge of material management policies, principals, and practices; supply program relationships, inventory management principals, procedures, techniques, and practices. Knowledge of specialized methods and techniques to analyze an evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of program and/or operations and skill in applying this knowledge to difficult and complex assignments. Knowledge of automated material and production systems, structure, content, data bases, internal and external interfaces, and uses. Skill in preparing project papers and staff reports; in organizing and delivering briefings to managers to report capabilities, deficiencies; and technology applications. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. Additional Information Hill Air Force Base provides worldwide engineering and logistics management for the F-16 Fighting Falcon, A-10 Thunderbolt II, and the Minuteman III ICBM, and performs depot maintenance of the F-16, A-10, and C-130 Hercules aircraft. The base is located between Ogden and Salt Lake City. The area is known for year-round activities, including skiing, hiking, boating, extreme sports, fishing and hunting, with four distinct seasons, low humidity and moderate snow fall in the valley. This is an acquisition demonstration project position NH-02 equivalent to a GS-05 to GS-11.
