Due to an exciting internal promotion, Mars Food and Nutrition is looking for a Demand & Supply Planning Manager to join our Supply Chain leadership team.
We are seeking an experienced and passionate leader to oversee a team of demand and supply planners, ensuring the efficient management of the end-to-end supply chain pipeline. Reporting to the Supply Chain Director, you will drive performance and alignment across Demand and Supply teams, fostering clear communication and accountability. This role involves a strong continuous improvement mindset – as you’ll be leading the forecasting process, ensuring sales forecast accuracy, and optimizing inventory while balancing cost and growth.
What are we looking for?Tertiary qualification – preferably in logistics management, supply or commerce, complimented by experience in FMCG or similar fast-paced consumer goods.
Strong leadership skills, planning experience, and team development experience to drive team effectiveness.
Excellent communication to ensure cross-functional stakeholder and executional alignment.
Capability to influence and drive actions that benefit the overall supply chain and business outcomes.
A focus on operational improvement and cost efficiency while enabling growth and high quality, and future-proofed customer service.
Your Key ResponsibilitiesLine Management: Of a team of 5 Demand Planners and Supply Planners including the development, capability and engagement of the team.
Demand and supply forecasting: Formation, alignment and deployment of a 24-36 period rolling MFA demand forecast (including base and promo) and supply planning production forecast (including factory produced, locally co-manufactured and imported FGs) for input into the S&OP process to deliver periodic and year end forecasts.
Achieve forecast accuracy: maintain forecast and customer service level targets that will result in maximising sales potential, improving forecast accuracy, reducing out of stocks and optimising inventory holdings.
KPIs and Diagnostics: This role is accountable for sales forecast, Bias, customer service level and Inventory targets as well as root cause analysis when targets are not achieved.
Global Connectivity: Ensure the overall connection between the local and global supply team with the MFNA demand unit.
Own Sales and Operations Execution (S&OE) process: Driving and supporting medium term demand-supply consensus. Facilitation of Step 2 DMR S&OP+ process in support of the S&OP Manager and Step owners. A key participant in Step 4 to ensure that the supply and demand inputs and context are represented to facilitate clear communication and drive decisions and actions to deliver the best business outcomes.
