Demand & Supply Strategy Lead
Site Name: Japan - Tokyo - Akasaka Posted Date: Jan 7 2025 Job Purpose & Key Responsibilities This role has overall accountability for designing and optimizing Demand forecasting and Supply risk management and executing strategies across the Japan market/Business units to ensure delivery of business strategies. This will also require implementation of projects through expert project management. This is a role that will support/lead and deliver Japan supply chain strategy. This supports the consolidation of strategic Supply Chain activities covering multi asset portfolios in Japan, collaborating closely with the Global Supply chain, Local site, Commercial, Finance and R&D teams and providing leadership for governance committees, Demand Review Meeting (DRM) and Supply Review Meeting (SRM). Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Ensuring the Japan Demand and supply strategy team has a clear set of strategic principles based on Product/Brand and its lifecycle. This role will be responsible for Establishing Demand forecasting and supply strategy for Japan assets including New and established products. Review baseline forecasts through statistical or external and internal data based end to end analysis and incorporating market intelligence. Oversee the assumptions and hypotheses of forecast model and ensure to select the most precise outputs. Supporting Commercial and Market Supply Chain lead in delivering supply chain commercial ambition with a focus on key objectives Providing expertise to drive execution of Key NPI Launches – Drive launch excellence in respective therapy areas, look for synergies between supply chain nodes, various projects, and functional teams to deliver the plan. Leading critical activity such as Supply Chain Risk Management and compliance. Manage risks and promote opportunities for Japan capabilities. Lead supply constrained risk management meeting Lead a team of demand forecasting professionals, setting clear direction and ensuring appropriate capabilities are developed across the team. Identify and manage key supply chain risks for the vaccine subset, putting in place mitigation plans and escalating appropriately through SRM, DRM etc. Ensure effective management of the product lifecycle for all brands including New Product Introduction, pack change, discontinuation, and divestment. Basic Qualification Skill Proficient financial knowledge of modeling, analysis, evaluation, and forecasting Demonstrated strength in leadership and the development of a team Creating a performance culture and driving results, prioritization, execution, delivering performance. Building strong relationships and collaboration in service of common goals, engaging the organization and building trusted external networks for mutual benefit. Experience communicating with and influencing/managing stakeholders up to JLT level. Understanding of supply chain processes, System, regulatory constraints, planning and logistics, trade routes and GSK trading arrangements. Experience in project implementation & a track record of successfully closing out these activities in a timely and efficient manner. Agile and distributed decision-making under pressure and with incomplete information using evidence and applying judgement to balance pace, rigor and risk, governance and control, managing ambiguity and paradox. Experience 10+ years of experience in supply chain, manufacturing, Sales, Marketing, or/and Finance Experience acting as an effective leader in an environment spanning multiple teams and geographies. Experience problem solving in Pharma/Biotech commercial Experience working with industry standards, trends, and expectations with ability to interact with and influence third parties. Experience modelling scenarios with multiple variables incorporating identification of key drivers, risks, financials, and sensitivity analysis. Experience with performance and capability in enabling and driving change, identifying, and implementing holistic business solutions. Education/Certification/Language University degree (Supply Chain, Finance, Logistics, Business, Economics, Math, Engineering) or practical experience in a relevant field Bilingual Japanese / English preferred. Preferred Qualification Proven ability in Statistical forecasting Understanding of the pharmaceutical industry Experienced in a matrix environment, able to drive impact across a range of functions Experience with SAP/ECC, APO or OMP Why GSK?
