Job Classification: + Daytime Hours + Monday - Sunday + On-Site role Essential Job Functions: + Develop and implement comprehensive Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) training programs tailored to demolition activities. + Provide guidance and instruction on safety protocols, ensuring alignment with industry best practices. + Collaborate in the creation and enhancement of OHS policies and initiatives specific to demolition projects. + Conduct thorough risk assessments and enforce proactive safety measures to mitigate potential hazards. + Intervene to halt any unsafe activities or processes that pose risks to health and safety. + Demonstrate exceptional organizational skills, effectively managing multiple priorities and time-sensitive tasks. + Inspect job sites and personnel activities to identify potential safety issues and recommend corrective actions. + Compile detailed reports on safety incidents and share findings with senior management for continuous improvement. + Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) pertaining to demolition practices. + Document and investigate workplace incidents to identify root causes and support workers' compensation claims when applicable. Qualifications: + Organizational Skills: Demonstrates exceptional organizational abilities to manage multiple priorities and ensure safety protocols are implemented effectively. + Attention to Detail: Diligent and detail-oriented, capable of identifying potential hazards and ensuring compliance with safety standards. + Interpersonal Skills: Skilled in interacting with diverse work crews and fostering a positive culture of safety across all levels of the organization. + Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of OSHA/EPA regulations and procedures, with the ability to ensure site compliance. Minimum of 3 years- experience. + Certifications: Minimum OSHA 30 certification required; higher qualifications, such as OSHA 500 or a certificate in occupational health and safety, are preferred. + Hazardous Material Awareness : Knowledge of hazardous materials and safe practices specific to demolition projects. + Reporting Experience: Proven experience in writing detailed reports, creating safety policies, and documenting compliance efforts. + Data Analysis: Familiarity with analyzing safety data and reporting statistics to identify trends and improve safety measures. + Professional Experience: Prior experience as a safety officer, with a preference for candidates with demolition industry experience. Minimum 3 years- experience. + Technical Proficiency: Proficient in MS Office and knowledgeable about safety management information systems. + Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively present and explain health and safety topics to teams and stakeholders. + Physical Requirements: Stand, Walk, Reach, Balance, Stoop, Kneel, Hear, Climb, Bend, Twist, Move Throughout the Day, Use Hands in Repetitive Motions, Repeat Same Movements, can see up close, distances, color and has use of peripheral vision and depth perception, walk on uneven terrain, Lift 50 pounds, and Exposed to Loud Noises. This is an Outdoor Position, and you will be exposed to all weather elements.
