POSITION SUMMARY Utilizing clinical judgment and critical thinking the Denial and Reimbursement Coordinator will perform concurrent and retrospective review on patients’ admission through discharge for acute hospital admissions applying appropriate medical necessity and payor criteria/guidelines. The Denial and Reimbursement Coordinator work closely with the Revenue Cycle Team (Medical Records, Business office, Regulatory Affairs, Physicians and MD offices, etc.) and other departments as needed to maximize accuracy of reviews and mitigate denials. The Denial and Reimbursement Coordinator will work with Care Coordination and Discharge Planning  team to monitor LOS and Readmission efforts.  POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Education Associates in Nursing 
Minimum Experience 3 Years’ experience in nursing 
Required Registration/License/Certification Alabama Board of Nursing License
Preferred Education BSN
Preferred Experience 5 years’ experience in nursing or Case management Utilization review
Preferred Registration/License/Certification Case Management certification from accredited organization
