Summary of Job Duties:A Dental Assistant supports dentists and dental hygienists by preparing patients for treatment, assisting with dental procedures, and managing administrative tasks. This role involves a blend of clinical and clerical duties to ensure smooth operations within the dental practice.
Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Candidate must possess high school diploma/GED.

Candidate must have completed a dental assisting training program and possess a minimum of 1 year experience as a dental assistant.

Candidate must meet the training and experience qualifications in order to be considered and are advised to contact the training facility/source to verify accreditation status.

Must be trained in four-handed dentistry; Must possess thorough working knowledge of Current Dental Terminology (CDT) codes; OSHA regulations; and the Arkansas

Dental Practice Act.

 12-month, full-time faculty position that reports to the laboratory sciences chair or designee Participate in the organization, administration, continuous review, planning, development and general effectiveness of clinical experiences for laboratory sciences students  Teach in the cytotechnology and/or medical laboratory science program Focal point for student recruitment, advisement, mentoring, admissions and interviewing Participate in research and other scholarly activities appropriate to faculty rank and track Engage in service activities, consistent with university and college expectations for core faculty Contribute to program and curriculum assessment, planning and implementation activities Participate in accreditation-related review, self-study and site visit processes Maintain current certification(s) Assist other faculty by co-teaching or providing assistance as deemed necessary by the program director 0.4 FTE assigned to MLS recruiting.
