Job Description
The dental assistant will be an integral part of the clinic team, which includes faculty patient care managers, dental student providers, and treatment coordinators. You will work closely with the team to assist dental students in providing excellent patient care. Your role will involve a variety of tasks aimed at ensuring the smooth operation of the clinic and an exceptional patient experience.
ResponsibilitiesPerform chair side assisting of undergraduate and graduate dental students.Set up trays for procedures and assist with patient scheduling.Maintain clinic cleanliness, including opening and closing the clinic.Deliver and retrieve instruments to and from sterilization.Set up operatories and ensure they are adequately stocked and prepared.Confirm lab cases are ready for delivery.Facilitate patient scheduling and appointment confirmations.Maintain and adhere to Infection Control Protocol, appropriate attire, and eye wear.Perform sterilization duties and store instruments appropriately.Support room setup and cleanup processes.Maintain complete inventory of all clinical supplies.Essential SkillsX-rayHygieneInfection controlDental Assistant graduateCPR certificationPatient care dental operationsKnowledge of infection controlSterilization and dispensaryRadiology certificateAdditional Skills & QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED requiredMinimum of 1 year of dental assisting experience requiredIf RDA, must be registeredCurrent Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certificationInfection Control CertificateWork Environment
You will be working within the College of Dental Medicine, in an office with about 68 chairs, and can expect to see approximately 78 patients a day. This is a fast-paced environment, distinct from private practice. You will work Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM alongside 15 other RDAs/DAs. The team culture is very close-knit and supportive. The dress code includes professional attire, no jewelry, closed-toe shoes, and black scrubs.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.
