SUMMARY

As a Certified Dental Assistant, nder supervision of Dentist or manager, functions as a dental chair assistant and office assistant. And, can perform additional tasks as is allowed under NYS law for Licensed Dental Assistants

SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday, Days       

ATTRIBUTES

Required Licensure / Certification Skills: Maintains Dental Assistant Certification (CDA) with NYS or the Dental Assistant National Board (DANB). 

Ability to anticipate needs and multitask with excellent customer service 

Exceptional attention to detail and cleanliness

RESPONSIBILITIES

Dental Assistance. Prepares patient for Dentist by seating and draping the patient then adjusting the chair to a convenient angle. Reviews patient record if available and using standard practices and procedural instructions, determines and lays out any instruments and materials that will be needed. Mixes filling compounds using standard practice or Dentist preference. Places and positions suction tubes in patient’s mouth as directed by Dentist

Sterilization & Maintenance. Transfer instruments and perform 4 handed dentistry for the general dental assistant 

Documentation & Coordination. Maintain all patient records and update as necessary

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant.
