Overview
The Dental Clinic Cashier plays a crucial role in ensuring smooth financial operations within the clinic. This position combines cashiering duties, including handling daily financial transactions, with oversight of accounts receivable (AR) functions, ensuring timely collection of payments and accurate record-keeping. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and will develop a solid understanding of dental medical billing and insurance processes.
Responsibilities
Cashier Duties:
+ Greet patients courteously and provide excellent customer service.
+ Accurately process patient payments for services rendered, including cash, credit card, and checks.
+ Issue receipts and maintain accurate financial transaction records.
+ Reconcile daily cash drawers and prepare deposits.
+ Address patient inquiries related to payment methods and account balances.
Accounts Receivable Oversight:
+ Monitor and manage patient accounts to ensure timely payments and follow-up on overdue balances.
+ Collaborate with appropriate staff to resolve discrepancies and insurance claim issues.
+ Generate AR aging reports and assist in developing strategies to reduce outstanding balances.
+ Maintain accurate and organized records of all AR activities.
+ Communicate with patients to arrange payment plans, if necessary.
Administrative Support:
+ Assist in maintaining patient records, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy.
+ Collaborate with the front office and clinical staff to streamline workflows.
+ Participate in regular staff meetings and provide updates on AR performance and trends.
Qualifications
Education/Experience
+ High School Diploma/GED Eqvlnt.
+ Previous experience as a cashier or in a related field.
+ Strong understanding of basic accounting principles.
Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities
+ Proficiency in using computer software, including dental practice management systems.
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
+ Attention to detail and accuracy.
+ Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks.
+ Strong organizational and time management skills.
Physical Demands
+ Extensive time sitting and standing.
+ Able to lift up to 5 lbs.
+ This position requires compliance with Touro's Vaccine Mandate policy
Maximum Salary
USD $50,000.00/Yr.
Minimum Salary
USD $40,000.00/Yr.
