Essential Functions:   

Provide and manage direct patient care, including intra and extra oral examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses, and treatment while meeting the Centers minimum productivity requirements per year as set by the Center and Dental Director (prorated per FTE).Follow established Premise Health policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standardsFollow evidenced based guidelines for prescribing pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed dental conditionsRefer patients to specialists and to relevant patient care components as appropriate.Responsible for taking calls after hours and on weekends on a rotation basis with other providers; and participates in specified health promotion, education and/or prevention programs.Approve and recommend hiring, training, evaluating, and/or dismissing of dental staff.Monitor standards of performance and quality of patient care through a peer review system.Participate in the development and review of the dental department budget and staffing patterns/needs appropriate for patient careDevelop and participate in all Performance Improvement activities relating to dental practice and ensures the dental component complies with all regulations and standards (OSHA, AAAHC, CDC, ADA, and State Regulations)Monitor revenues and reports on the productivity of the dental department recommending and implementing strategies and changes to enhance the dental program.May require other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements: 

Education:

All state licenses/certifications to practiceFederal DEA license (matching each state of practice – except: orthodontists)State Narcotic/Controlled Substance license if required in your state (Alabama, Connecticut, DC, Delaware, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Utah, Wyoming, Puerto Rico.) (New York ROPES registration)Degree from accredited dental schoolSpecialty training verification (if applicable)CPR (BLS for community/lay responder or Healthcare Provider/Professional Rescuer - the copy must include the front and back of card as applicable) Certification must include “hands on” evaluation of skills by the trainer/instructor. Course must also meet the American Heart Association (AHA) standards for medical professionals but need not be an AHA certificate.

Experience:

Minimum experience of 5-10 years in the practice of dentistry required
