The College of Dentistry is looking for a Dental Laboratory Facilitator to serve in the Comprehensive Dentistry department. Proposed Salary: $17.78 hourly
Work Schedule/Location: This is an on-site role with a typical schedule of Monday – Friday 8am to 5pm.

Essential Duties/Tasks
Lab Equipment Maintenance
+ Maintains laboratory instruments and department equipment according to Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) specifications and TAMU policies for proper operating.
+ Ensures adherence to lab standards and practices to maximize safety and operational effectiveness.
+ Department’s designated liaison between the department, outside labs, and students.
+ Coordinates any needed repairs, updates, etc. for the lab.
+ Prepares materials for digital scanning and emergency appointments.
General Lab Coordination
+ Reviews all lab cases for certain criteria, ensuring proper completion.
+ Check in and out cases coming from and going out to labs in Axium.
+ Research lab cases as needed to ensure procedures are paid for in full, and that lab cases are turned in on time.
+ Wrap and package casts, inspect lab scripts for accuracy and file lab script copies in lab drawer.
+ Check for overdue cases and message the lab or student as needed.
+ Assists laboratory personnel in daily operations.
+ Assists personnel by documenting, maintaining and certifying equipment and incident reports.
+ Re-stocks and organizes all laboratory supplies, and file documentation of received supplies.
+ Maintains and monitors inventory of the equipment and supplies ensuring that they are available, functional, and maintained properly according to the manufacturer's recommendations.
+ Cleans, sterilizes, and maintains stock of laboratory utensils for service research groups.
Service and Support
+ Assist the QA team with rejected cases.
+ Filling out Professionalism Deduction Slips.
+ Check voicemail, email, and Axium messages, and address any that require immediate attention.
+ Assist with scheduling emergency care patients during clinic closures.
+ Back up for lab manager as needed.
+ Communicates lab procedures to ensure understanding to all lab members.
+ Participates in departmental meetings providing updates to team members.
+ Proposes ideas to engage our customers to increase the position and areas productivity.
+ Provides training for new laboratory and staff on use laboratory equipment.
Qualifications
Required Education
Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) field (or similar discipline) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Experience
One year of related lab work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Professional experience supporting a laboratory.
+ Some administrative experience.
+ Experience ordering supplies and equipment.
+ Experience maintaining inventory records.
+ Familiarity working in a laboratory.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
+ Familiarity with appropriate laboratory and/or technical equipment.
+ Knowledge of lab room preparation and lab techniques and safety.
+ Attention to detail.
