Position Summary:
We are seeking a customer-oriented and professional Dental Office Specialist for our Jackson Heights site. The successful candidate will be responsible for scheduling appointments, registering patients, completing insurance verifications, pre-authorizations and follow-up on dental inquires.
Job Responsibilities:
Customer Service/Administraton Skills – greet all patients and provide basic orientation to the center and all available services.
+ Referral/Emergency Referral – create and submit referral forms to all dental insurances.
+ Responding to all dental related questions from patients – referral/emergency referral.
+ Provide updated dental insurance changes to patient – fee schedule from PPO/HMO dental plans.
+ Assist billing department – verify EOBs and claims.
+ Training – keep an updated list of the dental insurance contact information.
Qualifications:
+ High School Diploma or GED equivalent with 2 years of working experience required. Some college education with 1 year of working experience preferred.
+ Experience in hospital or community health center preferred
+ Bilingual preferred (Spanish, Hindi, Bangla, Urdu)
+ Knowledge of eClinicalWorks EMR is preferred.
+ Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos
+ Ability to communicate dental procedures and terminology with dental team and patient
+ Engaged in learning and continuous quality improvement
+ Excellent customer service skills are required
+ Responsive and comfortable working in the fast-paced, high accountability environment.
+ Demonstrated commitment to professional development.
+ Ability to sit in front of computer long hours required. • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
