Job Summary\:
The Dept. Administrative Specialist reporting to the College of Science & Technology’s Biology division Senior Business Manager will provide support to the Chairperson, Business and Academic Offices. Completes administrative tasks such as screening incoming calls and correspondence and responds independently when possible. Assists faculty, staff and students with instructional and research issues. Will provide administrative assistance for the department’s undergraduate and graduate programs. Process TUmarketplace orders, submit invoices and travel reimbursements in concur for payment. Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education & Experience\:
At least two years of directly related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Required Skills & Abilities\:
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Demonstrate professional and strong customer service experience; particularly in the front desk area. Ability to interact with a diverse group of students and colleagues Able to handle variety of complex issues that have impact on the department. Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work under tight deadlines.
