To continue our standard of excellence, Piedmont is seeking a motivated, reliable leader to join our team as a Department Manager, Team Member Services (TMS) in our Ground Handling Department. The primary responsibility of the position is to utilize outstanding organizational skills to oversee the TMS and station training departments while providing quality, on-the-job career development to both new and current team members. Additionally, this position will plan, direct, supervise, and coordinate work activities of subordinates and staff in accordance with established policies and procedures. This Department Manager will also represent the company at Worker’s Compensation hearings and investigations. The successful candidate will have previous experience in a busy office environment with proven success as a team leader. This position will report to the Director, Customer Service. 

Essential Duties:

Coach and provide career development to the staff

Correct non-compliant behavior and impose disciplinary action as required

Understand the corporate culture, policies, and goals, and take measures to implement these into daily work routines

Plan, direct, supervise, and coordinate work activities of team members and other staff in accordance with established policies and procedures

Maintain daily/weekly/monthly reports relating to staffing, workman’s compensation, dependability, airport badge accountability, and mandatory training documentation

Prepare or maintain employment records related to events such as hiring, termination, leaves, transfers, and promotions

Understand, enforce, and explain company policies, benefits, and procedures

Compile and prepare reports and documents pertaining to personnel activities

Represent organization at worker’s compensation hearings and investigations

Oversee TMS activities, including work schedules, vacation schedules, payroll processing, and corrective action for dependability 

Job Qualifications and Competencies:

Previous experience in a busy office environment

Proven success as a team leader with ability to preplan

Ability to work independently, set and meet own deadlines

Ability to coach and provide career development for the staff

Able to defuse conflicts among team members and administer corrective action as necessary

Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

Prior experience with internal controls processes for accountable items

Flexible schedule

Motivation to succeed

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous management experience in an airport hub environment   

Bachelor’s degree in business management or another related field

Familiarity with Roster Apps

Knowledge of Worker’s Compensation Guidelines and Processes

Work Environment:

Standard office environment, use of telephones, computers, and other office equipment

Available to work all shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays

Physical Requirements:

Frequent lifting up to 25 pounds

Employment is contingent upon a valid driver’s license and clear driving record, 10-year Criminal History Records Check, and drug screen as required. We also require proof of high school or GED completion. Minimum 18 years of age.

Starting Rate:

$71,000.00/Annual Salary - 85,000.00/Annual Salary (Based on locale and experience)
