Job Mission

As department manager you direct and manage the activities of the D&E Overlay Applications Department, currently consisting out of 8 groups with the total head-count of 190 FTE.

Department is responsible for the functional and software delivery, as well as integration of the two product families of control software applications, Baseliners and Litho Insights. In addition, department is responsible for maintaining a strong technical competencies for on product overlay. Department also has strong project leadership (5 direct reports are senior project leaders) and a strong connection with the customers and Application Engineering.

Position in the organization

As Department Manager D&E Overlay Applications you report to the cluster manager BL Apps MPC D&E PWC, who is part of MPC D&E Management Team. Part of your role is to be responsibility for competence roadmap, including technology, design process and design tools and components in a broader knowledge domain. To ensure manufacturability and serviceability are taken into account in design choices for content domain with higher complexity, and act as challenging partner for PDM’s and PCM’s.

You will have interfaces to development partners across PWC D&E cluster as well as from other D&E clusters and strongly collaborate with sectors like System Engineering, CS, as well as the Control Software program organizations.

Role and responsibilitiesContribute to the strategy and business plan for the MPC D&E PWC ClusterDefine department roadmap for Overlay Applications, based on technical developments and ASML product roadmapContribute to the success of the cluster by taking ownership beyond the scope of own department.Drive the development of the department and reporting groups to meet the long term capacity and capability needsContribute to the Apps Business Line roadmap and related deliverables to programs, including products, technology and processes.Develop new technologies and processes together with partners and other cluster and sectors. Change management with regards to the implementation of improvements

Responsible for the translation and execution of the annual operational plan for Overlay ApplicationsManage CAPEX and OPEX according to budget and monitor financial performance versus plans and budgetsEnsure projects are feasible (decide on trade-offs between impact and resource requirements, review project plans, technical content and budgets and assess quality and capacity of suppliers)monitor that projects are delivered as planned (shared ownership of project deliverables with Program)As part of the MPC D&E PWC representatives also responsible for the assessment of quality and completeness of D&E deliverables: preparing KD assessments and providing recommendations (Go, Go with Actions, CV) and risk analysis on KD decisions

Education and experienceMaster’s degree or PhD, background in Engineering, Physics or Computer Science.10+ years of experience in the international high-tech industry, of whichMinimum of 5+ years experience in a complex people leader role.Proven leadership and experience in leading international teamsUnderstanding of way-of-working in leading-edge semiconductor manufacturing facility.Fluency in English.Ability to work both independently and in team settings in highly ambiguous environments.Demonstrated ability to perform in high-pressure environments.Proven track record in building and maintaining professional relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization, both internal as well as external.
