McCormick Canada is currently looking to hire a Materials Department Manager to join our Operations team. This position is located at our London, Ontario offic

 

 

 

 

POSITION SUMMARY

 

As a key member of the London plant leadership team, reporting to the Plant Manager, the Materials Department Manager is responsible for achieving key performance indicator results that support our strategic objectives. The incumbent is responsible for plant purchasing/material planning, scheduling and inventory management activities and works with internal and external teams to meet customer service objectives. This role is responsible for balancing inventory, service, and cost objectives, driving collaborative supply chain improvements and supporting overall plant objectives. Maintains and continuously improves supply chain processes and systems to meet the changing needs of the business.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

 

Leading and developing direct reports while fostering a team environment. Analyze, manage and report KPI’s related to the materials management team. Identify improvement opportunities and drive execution. Leads plant material planning & production scheduling teams responsible for creating, maintaining and executing to an optimized operations plan to ensure it meets customer requirements and plant efficiencies Proactively identifies potential shortage/raw material issues in advance and works collaboratively with cross functional teams to mitigate service risk. Escalates swiftly and drives for resolution. Works with appropriate internal and external contacts collaboratively to communicate and address issues that can impact customer service. Assesses situations, determines, and provides recommendations to resolve issues. Drives inventory reduction and improvements in inventory control. Leads projects to reduce cost, improve service, and mitigate risk. Supports and develops McCormick’s high-performance work organization (HPO) to ensure information flow, personnel development, problem solving, goal setting and process improvements are an integral part of the daily activities


 REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS


•    Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain or Logistics
•    APICS CPIM certification
•    Min. 7-10 years’ functional experience in Materials or Supply Chain Management required.   
•    Min. 7-10 years’ experience leading teams and/or direct reports required
•    Demonstrated significant and relevant skills and results in functional area
•    Strong leadership experience with demonstrated success in managing multiple projects and people
•    Proficiency with SAP, and Microsoft Office suite
•    Demonstrated experience building teams to drive collaboration and engagement
•    Intimate understanding of how supply chain works and how to drive improvements. Works collaboratively with cross functional teams to drive results.
•    Demonstrated experience responding to multiple and changing priorities and achieving results while under pressure
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills necessary to effectively interact with all levels within the organization required.
•    Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills 
•    Self-starter, high attention to detail and a proven ability to work in a fast paced and ever-changing environment.
