Job Title Department Manager - Tufting Position Overview POSITION OBJECTIVE: Lead the Creel Tufting department at Plant WD to achieve plant goals and empower associates. Give direction in maintaining the operation of a diverse machine fleet with utmost regard to safety, efficiency, productivity, cost, and quality while ensuring compliance with all company, plant, and departmental guidelines. Essential Duties: + Directly lead the Creel tufting department consisting of 10 salaried associates and 300+ hourly associates + Create and implement the strategy for the Tufting department within the business plan of the plant + Actively engage with all levels to drive improvement efforts around Safety, Quality, and Production + Work with internal/external suppliers, customers, and other facilities to meet the needs of the business + Collaborate with Beam Tufting and Shipping to optimize yarn flows and usages + Build trusting relationships with Maintenance, Planning & other support areas + Develop and implement initiatives that drive safety, quality, reliability, and cost + Demonstrate good judgment to ensure quality and machine availability are maintained + Coach and develop assistant managers, supervisors, leads, and all associates Requirements: + 4-year degree required; Engineering degree preferred + Previous manufacturing experience preferred + Great people skills + Strong communication skills (written and oral) + Strong analytical skills Required Competencies: + Drive Results + Lead Change + Build Trusting Relationships + Make Effective Decisions + Demonstrate Strategic Influence + Delegate Authority Work Shift 8 Hr non-rotating shift, Hrs fall to in punch day, Observed Calendar, shift starts AM Shaw Industries is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
