Job Summary
Manages the safety, quality, environmental, productivity and cost-effectiveness of their department and the colleagues who work in or are assigned to the department.
Essential Job FunctionsManage day-to-day department operations, including regular inspections and oversight.Analyze information and evaluate results to solve production problems and choose best solutions. Assist with trouble-shooting and problem-solving in the field when necessary.Manage personnel, including hiring, training, evaluating, discharging and resolving personnel grievances.Guide, direct and motivate subordinates, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance.Monitor costs, productivity and quality; prepare and maintain production reports.Implement and evaluate process improvements.Track costs and approve expenditures, ensuring that materials, labor and equipment are used efficiently to meet production targets.Indirect oversight of contractors and maintenance personnel doing project work in their department.Communicate with upper management, peers, supervisors and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail and in person.Tools/Equipment Used To Perform Job:Personal computer, process control systems, phone, radio, hand tools, ladders, hoses, shovels, flashlight.Education/Training/Experience:Bachelor degree or higher in relevant field of study such as business, management, engineering or manufacturing.Previous work experience managing people and production processes.ADM safety orientation and ongoing OSHA required plant safety training.Basic knowledge of process equipment.Excited about this role but don’t think you meet every requirement listed?
