Departmental Reporting Analyst under the Chief Academic Officer **Location:** Texas Medical Center-Houston, Texas **Hot** **Category:** Professional/Managerial UTHealth Houston General Administration Requisition #: 2500004U UTHealth Houston is looking for a Departmental Reporting Analyst.This new position within the Office of Research Development, under the Office of the Executive Vice President and Chief Academic Officer (EVP CAO), will play a key role in supporting strategic research initiatives. The role involves collaborating closely with information systems teams to design, develop, and implement online dashboards to track and analyze research activities and goals.You will be responsible for analytics and reporting activities. You must be able to design, create, and routinely produce standard and ad hoc reports and dashboards. Participates in and supports departmental process improvement projects. These dashboards will provide real-time insight into research activities that will be accessible to our higher leadership to measure progress. You should be extremely proficient in Excel, and any exposure to academic PeopleSoft modules or InfoEd is a plus. This role requires someone who can work on-site because you will be meeting with decision-makers in our location at 1825 Pressler. Gathers data and prepares regular reporting, dashboards, and analyses on key metrics using MS Office software, Epic, and Patient Satisfaction databases. This role in particular will use PeopleSoft and InfoEd in its collection of data. 2. Assists departmental leadership in limited areas of consultation, planning, execution, management and reporting of continuous improvement projects that align with the department’s performance goals that have direct impact on clinic operations. 3. Monitors key metrics (eg. Open Visits) and communicates issues to stakeholders. 4. Assists departmental leadership in limited aspects to synthesis findings, recommendations and key messaging to stakeholders. 5. Collaborates with leadership, to identify reporting that can model current and monitor future workflows. 6. Seeks opportunities for synergy, improvement, simplification, and automation of existing reports and analysis. 7. Responds to ad hoc information requests. 8. Responsible for ensuring accuracy, data integrity and integration, including data from complementary functions within the University. 9. Performs other duties as assigned. **Certification/Skills:** Proven ability to develop reports and to interpret data. Advanced MS Excel modeling and data manipulation skills. Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail skills. Compelling oral and written communication skills. Ability to create dashboards is strongly preferred. **Minimum Education:** Bachelor’s degree in related discipline required; directly related experience in lieu of education may be considered. **Minimum Experience:** At least three (3) years of relevant experience in retrieving, analyzing, and reporting information. **Physical Requirements:** Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects. **Security Sensitive:** This job class may contain positions that are security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of Texas Education Code § 51.215 **Residency Requirement:** Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.This role will require someone willing to come on-site.
