As a part the Treasury Central Model Development team, we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Deposit Modeling Team Lead to spearhead the development and management of advanced quantitative models for Deposit Pricing, Balance and Attrition, and Originations in a dynamic banking environment. The successful candidate will lead a team of analysts and modelers, collaborate across departments, and drive insights to inform critical business and regulatory decisions.
While in this role, you will create first line models to support ALM Interest Rate Risk, CCAR/DFAST, Liquidity Risk and Funds Transfer Pricing frameworks.
Primary responsibilities include
Lead the design, development, and maintenance of sophisticated deposit models to analyze customer behavior, including deposit runoff, pricing sensitivity, and product segmentation.Oversee the integration of advanced modeling techniques, including machine learning, econometric modeling, and time-series analysis, to address complex forecasting and scenario analysis needs.Monitor model performance and communicate results to internal stakeholders,Propose model changes as necessary such as overlays and recalibration/redevelopment, supporting with sensitivity testing, back testing, and fundamental driver analyses.Interact effectively with Model Risk Management & Validation, Market Risk Management, and other challenge groups to facilitate periodic model validations and reviews.Collaborate with treasury, risk management, finance, and product teams to align model outputs with strategic objectives and ensure actionable insights.Evaluate the impact of macroeconomic variables on deposit trends and translate findings into forecasting and stress testing frameworks.Act as the subject matter expert for deposit modeling, providing technical leadership, training, and mentorship to the team.Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies to maintain the organization’s competitive edge in deposit analytics.Present recommendations and resolutions to Model Risk Management, Senior Leadership and external stakeholders (FRB/OCC) in a clear and concise manner. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., SR 11-7, IRRBB, CCAR, Basel III) and documentation requirements for model governance.Qualifications, Education, Certifications and/or Other Professional Credentials
Master’s or PhD in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Data Science, Engineering, or related fields).7+ years of experience in quantitative modeling, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.Demonstrated ability to mentor and motivate junior staff in best-in-class deposit modeling practices.Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate technical findings into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.Preferred Attributes
