Job Description

Provides credit risk management oversight for deposit portfolios and money movement capabilities.  Incumbent is considered an expert in all deposit related topics including credit policy, applicable laws, regulations, and financial services.  Job scope and complexity of assigned business is specialized and very complex.  This position is tasked with monitoring/forecasting deposit losses (Consumer and Business) and ensuring sound risk control processes & platforms throughout the Retail bank by working across numerous business lines to manage exposure.

To accomplish this task the candidate identifies, analyzes, and monitors emerging risk trends.  Reviews macroeconomic data and market conditions within the context of portfolio performance based on monthly and quarterly reports to identify risks. Conducts in-depth research and extensive analyses and makes recommendations to all levels of management.  Develops, builds, and maintains the risk management reporting framework for assigned portfolios. Manages credit policy changes, new product proposals, and oversees all incoming business line proposal recommendations.

The Credit Risk Management Division is responsible for establishing credit policies for all business units and products, ensuring transactions are approved pursuant to policy, and developing and implementing risk management processes that include measuring, tracking, and reporting of credit risk generated in the course of business.  Credit Risk Management’s primary objective is to support a comprehensive and proactive approach to risk management that promotes a strong risk management culture. This team also creates credit analytics, management reporting, and loss forecasting.

Essential Functions:

Candidate must possess considerable attention to detail in all aspects of their duties.Provides oversight and independent challenge to the business line through review, inquiry and discussion.Analyzes the portfolio and existing reporting to identify emerging and key risk trends. Independently determines what constitutes an emerging risk trend based on knowledge of the portfolio, industry and general macroeconomic environmentDevelops and communicates credit governance, risk and control policies.Monitors and reports on compliance with risk appetite and policies.Participates in cross-functional projects that involve working with business line peers and/or other corporate supporting groups.Manages multiple projects and analyses and ensures deadlines are met. Provides training, tools and advice to support the business line in carrying out its accountabilities.Provides guidance to more junior Credit Risk analysts.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experienceTypically 8+ years of applicable experience 

Preferred Skills/Experience:

Strong working knowledge of Deposits and operating systems.Advanced verbal, written and presentation communication skillsAdvanced technical report writing skillsIntermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel and coding skills Knowledge of credit risk, financial and statistical analysisKnowledge of credit administration, policies and procedures, and regulatory complianceAbility to work independently with minimal guidance from managerExperience working with and interpreting dataExperience in programming and data manipulation using SQL, statistical packages such as SAS or R, and spreadsheets

**The role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days.**

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $119,765.00 - $140,900.00 - $154,990.00
