Purpose of the job:

The depositary business of CSC in the Netherlands is provided by two legal entities, being CSC Depositary B.V. (hereinafter ‘CSCD’) and Intertrust Depositary Services B.V. (hereinafter ‘IDS’), based in Maarsbergen (CSCD) and Amsterdam (IDS). Both entities have their own license to operate as an AIFMD Depositary to alternative investment funds based in the Netherlands. 

 

As part of the worldwide integration between CSC and Intertrust, CSCD and IDS will conduct a legal merger where CSCD will be the surviving entity. Both locations will remain in the merged entity. When we refer in this job specification to CSCD, we mean the merged entity CSCD existing of both locations in Maarsbergen and Amsterdam.

 

CSCD needs to comply with the Alternative Investment Fund Manager Directive (hereinafter ‘AIFMD’). Our main responsibility as an alternative depositary is to monitor the investment fund’s cashflow in line with financial regulations in order to safeguard the interests of the investors of the fund. Besides monitoring the fund’s cashflow we verify the investments of the fund against fund documentation and perform oversight tasks to oversee the risks of the fund. 

 

CSCD is applying the A to Z model which means that depositary officers are responsible for all related depositary tasks of one fund. In this role you will report hierarchically to one of the three team leads of the team. Next to that you are part of a client team and responsible for your own funds for which you are the dedicated first depositary officer. Due to the fact that CSCD enhances the four eyes principle you can perform both maker and checker work.

 

Tasks and Responsibilities:

 

The tasks and Responsibilities can be split in the following subjects:

 

Client work

Completion and review of depositary activities for your own funds including cashflow monitoring, asset safekeeping and oversight tasks according to the A to Z model You manage the work programs for your funds in such way that you meet the internal and external client deadlines Liaising with the client service directors and team leads to build strong relationships with clients You keep up to date with relevant AIFMD, Wft or other relevant legislations and you have these legislations in mind when processing your tasks Operate as a key part of a client team to deliver a client focused, high quality service Participate actively in client meetings  Communicate clearly to clients also in case of issues or concerns Assist with the onboarding of new clients, both from a fund launch and fund migration perspective Ensure the timely provision of reporting to the clients and regulators Oversee the client and its fund in order to have a good overview and that you can timely identify any issues or risks of the fund Preparing relevant documentation for notification of new funds to regulator
