Depot Asset Control Engineer

Overview This is an in office role and will be located in the Raleigh, NC office. The Depot Asset Control team is responsible for managing and maintaining the organization’s IT asset lifecycle. This includes handling asset disposal, tracking and investigating asset records, hardware forecasting, stockroom management, legal hold, and ensuring the accuracy and security of IT assets. The team works closely with various departments to ensure compliance with operational standards for asset management. Responsibilities IT Asset Record Accuracy & Investigations: Maintain accurate records of IT assets and conduct investigations when discrepancies arise. IT Asset Disposal: Coordinate and execute the proper disposal of IT assets, adhering to organizational and regulatory requirements. Hardware Need Forecasting & Ordering: Analyze current stock and forecast future hardware needs. Place orders for new equipment and manage procurement timelines. Stockroom Management, Audits, & Controls: Oversee the organization of the IT stockroom, perform regular audits, and enforce inventory control measures. IT Asset Recovery: Coordinate the retrieval of IT assets when replacement equipment is issued or from departing employees/contractors, and ensure proper tracking. Legal Hold Asset Management: Manage and catalog IT assets that are under Legal Hold, ensuring compliance with organizational standards. Asset Data Management: Organize and maintain accurate data related to all IT assets in a centralized system for easy access and reporting. Additional Duties: Assist in creating and updating procedural documentation for asset management. Collaborate with the Hardware Asset Management Compliance teams to ensure adherence to organizational policies. Provide support to the Depot Asset Delivery and Site Support teams with respect to IT hardware-related inquiries and issues. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of experience in hardware asset management, Analytics or Reporting OR High School Diploma or GED and 8 years of experience in hardware asset management, Analytics or Reporting. Technical Skills: ServiceNow: Experience in using ServiceNow to track and manage IT assets and tickets. Microsoft Office Suite (Excel): Proficiency in Excel for data analysis, reporting, and inventory management. Active Directory: Basic knowledge of Active Directory for managing and tracking associate employment. Soft Skills: Attention to Detail: Strong ability to maintain data accuracy, ensuring asset records are always up to date and free from errors. Data Accuracy: Prior experience managing large sets of data with a focus on precision and timeliness. Procedure Writing: Ability to document procedures clearly for team use and compliance purposes. Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication to effectively collaborate across departments and with external vendors. Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with IT asset lifecycle management. Understanding of IT security protocols and regulations related to hardware disposal and recovery. Knowledge of legal hold processes and IT compliance standards.
