Depot/Yard Assistant

We’re looking for a Depot/Yard Assistant based in Doncaster. The Depot Assistant will report to the Depot Team Leader and support the day-to-day operation of the depot, keeping the depot safe and tidy as well as low-level maintenance of fleet.

What you’ll do:

Unloading and loading of vehicles and fleetGeneral duties involved in hire activities and site working when required, including the use of FLTs and company vehiclesCleaning of equipment prior to hireAncillary Equipment Preparation (including cables, distribution panels, and TC equipment)Basic servicing activities under the supervision of qualified personnelInventory responsibilities, including the repair of all MC fleetCompletion of all necessary service reports on equipmentMaintain the yard and workshop in a neat and tidy stateEnsure all yard/workshop equipment is in safe/good working orderCarry out any other duties which are reasonable and within your abilities to support other areas of the business

You’ll have the following skills and experience:

Experience in a similar role within a depot, warehouse, or operational environmentAbility to follow health and safety procedures and maintain a clean working environmentExperience with FLTs and other handling equipment (desirable but not essential)Basic mechanical knowledge or experience in servicing equipment (preferred)Strong attention to detail and ability to complete reports accuratelyAbility to work effectively within a team
