This Opportunity:
The Deputy Chief of Party will lead the overall
technical direction of the project to enhance Uganda's health system through
the reinforcement of its supply chain management leadership, management, systems, processes, and
human resources. Serving as the primary overseer of the technical
assistance strategy and its implementation, the Deputy Chief of Party will
focus on enhanced performance of pivotal functions of the health supply chain
including forecasting, procurement, warehousing, and distribution.
Additionally, they will be responsible for managing the structure, strategy,
development, and implementation of workplans, while also coordinating with
pertinent stakeholders.
Location:
The position is based
in Kampala, Uganda.
Reporting and Supervision:
The Deputy Chief of
Party reports to the Chief of Party and leads the overall technical direction
of the project.
Primary
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist the Chief of Party in coordinating internal and external stakeholders, such as donors, international organizations, host country institutions, and USAID
Safeguard compliance with USAID, GOU and USG laws, regulations, policies, and procedures
Key
Competencies Required:
Demonstrated experience implementing, overseeing and/or providing technical assistance in key supply chain functions such as procurement, warehousing, and distribution.
Demonstrated experience coordinating and collaborating with key stakeholders including USAID activity managers and contracting officers, recipient government agency counterparts, implementing partners, and representatives of other international agencies.
Experience in supply chain performance management and monitoring and documenting project activities and outcomes.
Strong team leadership and interpersonal skills, management experience, and dependability.
Detail-oriented, with a demonstrated ability to balance multiple tasks and priorities within designated timeframes.
Receptive and adaptable to changing demands and requirements.
Exceptional knowledge of written and spoken English.
Professional
Expertise/Competencies Preferred:
Demonstrated experience in supply chain management best practices.
Ugandan nationals with experience working in various countries, especially in Africa are strongly encouraged to apply.
