Amentum are recruiting for a Deputy Civil Works Programme Director to support project delivery across our diverse portfolio. This is a key role within our Civil project delivery and is indirectly responsible for the Execution Strategy and delivery of the Civil Works activities with accountability for delivery covering enabling works, earthworks, main civils works, marine and tunnelling works and ancillary works. You'll manage interfaces with wider Engineering teams and work closely with the other programmes within Amentum.
The role operates with delegated authority from our Civil Works Programme Director consistent with their approach to management of the major contracts associated with the assigned programme of work. It will require management of multi-level stakeholders and relationships with a range of internal / external stakeholders and organisations. Key responsibilities will be\:
Leadership of the delivery of all design (i.e. Earthworks and Enabling Works, Marine and Tunnels, Main Civil Works and Ancillary Works), ensuring that an assured design is available to support the project procurement and construction schedule. Strategic relationship management with relevant internal and external stakeholders. Ensuring that constructability requirements are integrated into design. Ensuring that the role of the CDM Principal Designer is discharged through the design of permanent and temporary works. Integration of Civils Works design with the Site Establishment, Site Operations, Off-site Infrastructure, Ancillary Buildings, Roads & Networks, Marine & Tunnelling. Oversight of Construction and Manufacturing Quality including provision of technical support as required. Leadership & management skills including engineering management, programme & project management, schedule management, financial management, change management and facilitation whilst maintaining a clear focus on the nuclear safety culture. Good knowledge of engineering in the nuclear sector. Significant experience of engineering design leadership / management, with some experience in the nuclear sector. Experience of working at a leadership level within the major projects sector. Delivered major & complex projects within a technically complex and dynamic environment whilst ensuring high levels of safety, security and environmental responsibility. Successfull at engaging executive management and groups of stakeholders.
